What People Say

Most Liked

Diners rave about the standout quality of food, particularly the chili, which is perfectly spiced and packed with flavor, often heralded as a top choice in Bend.

The chicken sandwiches draw praise for their juicy perfection, while the modern take on nachos keeps guests coming back for more.

Patrons also appreciate the array of craft beers available, complimented by knowledgeable bartenders who can recommend the ideal brew to match any dish.

The inviting atmosphere, highlighted by both indoor and outdoor seating, allows visitors to enjoy their meals in a setting that feels both relaxed and lively. Additionally, the live music adds a fun, community feel to any meal.

Most Disliked

Some patrons express disappointment over the occasional menu changes, particularly when a favorite food truck is switched out, impacting previously beloved dishes.

Waiting times can stretch during busy hours, especially on weekends when outdoor seating fills up quickly, which can lead to a crowded atmosphere that's less appealing for a relaxing outing.

While the Brown Owl offers a range of delicious options, some diners note that the limited dessert choices could be expanded to sweeten the dining experience further. A few have hoped for more consistency in the food truck experience, as dishes may vary with each vendor switch.

The food truck at Crux is awesome! So delicious, fun and kind. The owner, Karen, hides painted rocks for kids to find and gives them a cookie when they do. So 🔥

The Brown Owl is a great spot to visit. Located in the Box Factory, it has a very inviting atmosphere with a cool, logging style interior. The food is ordered from the food cart and you can enjoy your meals indoors on one of the many levels, or at the fun outdoor area.

We came into this understated restaurant without expecting too much and we were just blown away by the quality of the food. I’m telling you this was the best chili I’ve ever had, just enough spice and a very robust flavor. This ended up being our favorite place to eat in Bend, who would’ve thought! 100% recommend coming here for the food and atmosphere.

What a great little spot!! Was pleasantly surprised with the quality of food that came out of the truck. Ordered the Sando and it was delicious. The overall vibe is very cool and laid back with the bar inside and the outdoor seating area next to the truck. They have a great variety of beer options. Can't go wrong with drink or food here. Highly recommended!

UPDATE: They changed the food truck after I wrote my original review. He told us they were the best nachos in Bend and he wasn’t lying! Not your typical Mexican nachos but a modern spin on them. Can’t speak to the other items on the menu but I’ll be back.

Very cool place that is also family friendly. Stop in for a beer or a cocktail, or visit the food truck immediately out front that serves delicious sandwiches, salads, and fries. Industrial design throughout is inviting and kid friendly. Service was good and beer was cold. Prices are as expected and it's close to downtown or mill district.

This is an amazing spot to hangout with friends. The atmosphere is awesome the bartenders are amazing. I had the bartender make me something with brassmonkey and it was awesome but I don't remember what it was called lol. It must have been a good day. The food truck out front has great food also. I highly recommend you checking these guys out. Thank you for a great day guys!
